Blog Of The Month

This month's goes to Chris Chakky. Thank you for giving me the privilege to be lazy and copying ur thoughts into this free space.

People Deserve 2 Looks.

The 1st look is the sizing up, the grading, the approval rating. You check if your dude has good hair, talks well, smells good and treats you like his king. OR you check if the dudette smiles at you, flicks her hair well, has good boobs, dresses well and has a short, tight skirt.

And then we continue on from there. We choose a category of relationship for them, very quickly while smiling. 'Good friend', 'Nerd Help', 'Football Buddy', 'Chick Target'. No time to waste - we bring out the forms, asking them to fill it in. 'How are you?', 'What do you do?', 'Which school do you go to?', 'What did you get for your SPM?'... Once satisfied, we fill in the 'for office use' section, write our final remarks and submit 'NEW FRIEND' to our hearts to play games.

Then the game begins. Nurture and water them into who they were meant to be. Kick balls with the Football Buddy, ask for help with homework with the Nerd, listen to the Good Friend's problems. Prune them, lecture and advice them, say 'its ok, everyone makes mistakes'. Point them in the right direction we say. We tell ourselves, one day it will be worth it. It will be. We buy them gifts, throw them surprise parties. Talk good about them and to them. Tell them we care, that we remember and most importantly, that they matter to us.

But its not so simple. Waves spit and thorns spike. Suddenly its all gone. Friends were what they were. We say bad things, store up bitterness and dig up gossip. We plot their ruin, and crash their parties. We get angry and lonely, but will not let anyone help, too painful we say, too little trust, too late. We wonder, what happened to those years and memories. The laughs of the good ol' times. Didn't go as planned, we mumble. But why? It was all perfect, every last bit designed for our satisfaction and companion. Didn't we think of their every need? Didn't we make them happy all the time? Didn't we give them all we had? It was supposed to be the perfect friend.

The 2nd Look. The one where we look past the 1st look. And are prepared for people to look at us only with the 1st.

Tough stuff ya? I guess if we could do that to 1 boy(for me), we'll have a good friend... and 1 girl(for me) and we'll have a wife.

No no no...

Where got so simple ya? :) Take care guys.
