Remembering Old Friends
I'm reminded of a time when I was so annoyed with a good friend of mine. I think one word best describes him - Gentle Giant...ok..that's 2 words...its MY blog...anyway. Yea...I tell you, he was really the most humble person I'd ever known. It didn't really matter who was in the wrong, you could tell pride never got in his way in maintaining frienships..and I respected him so much for that. On that day itself, he walked over to my place in the rain, handed me a letter of apology with words of friendships he valued so much. I lost that letter @@ but yea...I found some words of wisdom on friendship.
This is for my friends who grew up with me (have we grown up?), Chris, Ben, Gabriel, heh....good times..good times indeed.
This is SO Meet The Parents (Think cat milking)
Zora Neale Hurston:
It seems to me that trying to live without friends is like milking a bear to get cream for your morning coffee. It is a whole lot of trouble, and then not worth much after you get it.
Robert Louis Stevenson:
We are all travelers in the wilderness of the world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.
Ralph Waldo Emerson:
It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.
Marlene Dietrich:
It's the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter.
